FAQ

What makes the SECO dry-running rotary vane vacuum pumps and compressors from Busch special?

SECO dry-running rotary vane vacuum pumps and compressors from Busch have been continuously developed and optimized for over 30 years. High levels of availability and improved performance are the benefits of this ongoing product advancement.

The vacuum pumps and compressors of the SECO product family are characterized by their robust construction and lifetime-lubricated bearings. Their compact dimensions allow for installation in environments with limited space.

What kind of lubrication does the SECO use?

The SECO product family is dry-running. This means these vacuum pumps do not require oil lubrication. Instead, they utilize graphite dust for lubrication, which is created when the graphite vanes grind along the walls of the cylinder.

What is the difference between R5, HUCKEPACK, and SECO rotary vane vacuum pumps?

All of these vacuum pumps operate with rotary vane technology. The main differences lie in the number of compression stages and the type of lubrication. Single-stage pumps, such as the R5 and SECO, compress the medium once. Two-stage pumps, like the HUCKEPACK, compress it twice, which allows them to reach higher vacuum levels. The R5 and HUCKEPACK are oil-lubricated. In the R5, the oil is collected and continuously recirculated for reuse, while in the HUCKEPACK, the oil passes through the vacuum pump only once before being discharged. The SECO, on the other hand, is dry-running. It uses graphite vanes that generate fine dust for lubrication as they glide along the cylinder wall.
