Healthcare Initiative for Women

The women of Busch India organized a healthcare initiative on International Women’s Day, March 08, 2024, for the women of the village of Jahajgarh, near their office.

The healthcare initiative gave 86 women the opportunity to see a doctor and have a free health check. “Our main aim was to provide healthcare and raise awareness among women who are underprivileged in the villages and rural areas,” explains Deepti Mittal, Senior Manager of HR and Administration. “Women’s health in the villages is completely neglected, and they don’t go to the doctor because they can’t afford basic check-ups,” she adds.

The women of Busch India also wanted to help raise awareness about menstrual hygiene. In India, discussing women’s menstrual health is often seen as taboo, which causes stigma and health risks for young girls and women. Thus, providing information is crucial to address this issue. The women of Busch India distributed sanitary towels, to which girls and women in rural areas often have little access, and also provided nutritional supplements, such as vitamins and minerals.
