Busch Group at the Company Cup in Annecy

This year, staff members from more than 90 European companies participated in the eleventh Company Cup in Annecy, France. From the Maulburg-based Busch Group, 220 employees took part in the sporting competitions.

Participants from Pfeiffer Vacuum and Busch Vacuum Solutions competed together for the second time under the motto “One Team. One Goal.” for the Busch Group. The Busch Group employees came from several countries, including France, Germany, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. They won the gold medal in handball, silver in biathlon, bronze in the women’s city trail run, and came fourth in soccer.

This year, 3,195 athletes traveled to the picturesque Lake Annecy to take part in the Company Cup. The competitions were held on the first day in heavy rain and on the second day in sunshine. “Despite the weather, the atmosphere was excellent. The Company Cup once again offered the opportunity to get to know colleagues from other locations and countries. It was fun to be there, to compete fairly, and to celebrate together as a team,” emphasized Daithi Casey, Global HR Project Manager.

Participating in sporting competitions has been a long tradition at Pfeiffer Vacuum, starting in 2008 with the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt, to the Maxi Race in Annecy in 2011, and the Corporate Games, from which the Company Cup emerged. Since 2022, employees of Busch Vacuum Solutions have also been taking part in the event.

The Company Cup is the largest inter-company multi-sports competition in France. It brings together several thousand participants each year and took place in Annecy for the eleventh time.
