Success for Our STEM Team
Busch (UK) Ltd. is pleased to announce that the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) team, which was coached by us, has won the business champion award.
Many pupils were taking part in the STEM Challenge 2019 in the UK. This competition is run by local newspapers to boost student engagement with the STEM subjects. Each school that has signed up to the challenge has been partnered with a mentor from companies or industry organizations. Busch (UK) Ltd. took care of six pupils from a school in Telford.
The task for the team was to "design a product, using the elements of STEM, that has a positive benefit to an individual or group and the environment or just the environment". The team developed a product that they called "Hydro Snail". This product could be installed in gutters to generate electricity.
The team has worked tirelessly on the project since January this year. The challenge came to an end in July with a morning of presentations by the students to several independent judges. Eight categories were assessed. The team that was coached by Busch (UK) Ltd. has won the business champion award.
