Responsibility at Busch

The Karanjorro e.V. association from Aßlar in central Hesse is committed to creating educational opportunities in rural regions of Senegal. Its particular focus is making it possible for girls and young women to attend school. The Busch Group has supported the association with a donation of 1,000 Euro.

The women of Busch India organized a healthcare initiative on International Women’s Day, March 08, 2024, for the women of the village of Jahajgarh, near their office.

Busch Vacuum Solutions sponsors the jerseys of the women’s handball team based at its headquarters for two seasons with 1,600 Euro.

Employees from Busch UK and Vacuum Furnace Engineering regularly collect money for a good cause. Now they have presented the organization Blood Cancer UK with a cheque for 1000 Pounds (around 1170 Euro).

On the anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the ceremonial opening of two container schools took place in the Turkish province of Hatay. The Busch family, owners of Busch Vacuum Solutions, supported the project with a donation of 100,000 Euro.

Busch Netherlands have provided students at TU Twente, the city of Enschede’s technical university in the Dutch region of Twente, with a MINK MH 0018 A. Thanks to this support, the students, who call themselves Green Team Twente, were able to present their first hydrogen racing car.

Busch UK sponsored the football kit for the Mountsorrel Girls’ U8 Vixen football team in December as part of its commitment to supporting local communities.

Twelve girls and young women aged between 12 and 20 visited Ateliers Busch in Chevenez to find out about the training opportunities available on site. The aim of the “open afternoon” was to awaken the young visitors’ interest in technical professions.

Busch Brazil has donated seven laptops to the Lar Eduardo Ferrara orphanage in Jarinu. The employees also organized gifts for the children.

Busch Vacuum Solutions has donated 3,000 Euro to the Todtnau mountain rescue service. The donation will be used for the urgently needed renovation and enlargement of the mountain rescue service at the top of the Feldberg, Germany’s highest mountain outside the Alps.

Ateliers Busch and Busch Manufacturing in the Czech Republic have donated an R5 RA 0010 to the Collège de Delémont in the Swiss canton of Jura, which will be used to carry out vacuum experiments at the school in the future. The aim is to arouse the students’ interest in technology.

Christmas is the season for generosity and goodwill. In this spirit, the employees from Busch Italy have decided that instead of giving presents to their customers, they would make donations on their behalf and give back to the community.

Busch Vacuum Solutions is donating 1,000 Euro to the local food bank “Tafel Schopfheim” to help supply food to people in need.

At the end of November, the employees of Ateliers Busch, together with their families and members of the “Reforest Jura” association, defied the adverse weather conditions and made a remarkable contribution to the environment. They planted more than 200 trees on a 1 hectare plot.

Busch Vacuum Solutions is supporting the voluntary work of the Maulburg chapter of the German Red Cross, close to our headquarters, with a donation of 15,000 Euro.

Thirteen dedicated colleagues from Busch Australia joined forces for a noble cause, participating in Australia’s largest marathon festival – the Melbourne Marathon.

Busch Austria is pleased to demonstrate its commitment to the local community by supporting the WHA (Women Handball Austria) champions league and WHA U18 (under 18) teams of the Union Korneuburg Women’s Handball club. The company has provided a donation of 2,500 Euro to support the teams in their sporting endeavors and strengthen ties with the Korneuburg community.

Last weekend, our company opened its doors to welcome seven curious and enthusiastic young people who wanted to learn about IT and programming. The ten to fifteen-year-olds had a great time exploring the world of coding and discovering exciting careers in IT.

Busch Vacuum Solutions donated an R5 RA 0040 F to the Formula Student team from the Technical University (TU) Darmstadt, Germany. With this, the students produced components for their electric vehicle.

An R5 oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump from Busch Vacuum Solutions has been in service since 1987 in the production area of bakery and cake shop Feinbäckerei Ruch. It is still in use twelve hours a day for flour conveying at the bakery in Rosdorf, in the German upland region of Harz.

Sami and Kaya Busch, along with 30 employees from Busch Vacuum Solutions, took part in this year’s STADTRADELN (city cycling) in Maulburg. From July 01 to 21, they cycled 11,783 kilometers and saved 1.908 tons of CO2 by using a bicycle instead of a car to get to work, for exercise, or on vacation. This has resulted in the company taking second place in the community.

Busch USA’s commitment to community involvement and environmental stewardship was on full display Saturday, June 3, as a team of fourteen employees and some enthusiastic children joined countless other volunteers for Clean the Bay Day. The volunteers worked together to help restore and protect the Chesapeake Bay by removing litter and debris from its rivers, streams, and surrounding areas.

It has been taking place in Norway for 100 years: the legendary Holmenkollstafetten sports event. This year, 14 employees of Busch Vacuum Solutions participated in the world’s largest relay race. In addition, our branch donated 10,000 Norwegian kroner (around 850 Euro) to an organization that promotes mental health in the Scandinavian country.

Busch Vacuum Solutions donated a total of 35,000 Euro to the student research center phænovum in Lörrach, Germany, last year. The leading vacuum pump manufacturer is a gold sponsor of the institution near its global headquarters.

The Busch Vacuum Solutions production facility in Chevenez, Switzerland, is the company’s largest plant. This makes it all the more important to pay attention to sustainability at this location in particular. For this reason, far-reaching energy-saving and sustainability measures will be implemented on site by 2024.

Busch Vacuum Solutions has initiated a series of sustainability measures that the company has made binding for all of its eight production sites.

Busch Denmark changed their electricity supplier: 100% renewable energy sources are now accounting for their electricity demand.

Plastic waste blows into the waters and pollutes the world’s oceans. Animals die from it or eat tiny plastic particles, and plastic eventually enters the human food chain. A customer of our American colleagues produces fiber for the textile industry from plastic bottles that have been carelessly thrown into the environment.

Busch Vacuum Solutions has planned a set of climate protection measures at its headquarters in Maulburg for 2023 that will make the company even more sustainable in the future. One pillar of the concept is photovoltaics. A solar power system has now been installed on the roof of the new systems building hall.

Seven employees of Busch Vacuum Solutions took part in the “Wiesentäler Wasserlauf” (run along the river Wiese) at the weekend. With their commitment, they are supporting the construction of water wells in Cameroon, as Busch will donate for every kilometer covered.

On this year’s Girls’ Day, eleven girls between the ages of 11 and 14 took the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Busch Vacuum Solutions in Maulburg, Germany, to learn more about technical professions.

Air Ambulances Charity

At the end of the tournament, things got exciting once again when the teams from SC Freibad and our company faced off in the final. But of course, it wasn’t about who brought home the trophy. The highlight was that the charity tournament raised around 3,500 Euro for the kindergarten “Unterm Regenbogen” (under the rainbow) near our headquarters in Maulburg.

The team of Busch UK raised money through various activities: 2,000 pounds (about 2,250 Euro) to support organizations that promote mental health.

Dogs barking, kennels, and abandoned animals waiting for a home – only recently, the team of Busch Poland organized a fundraising campaign for the animals at the animal shelter in Włocławek.

Orange, white and green balloons fluttered in the breeze: To celebrate the 74th Republic Day, the Busch India team cycled through Gurugram, the headquarters of the Indian subsidiary.

The trucks are so fully loaded with rescue and recovery materials and goods that there is hardly any space left for the helpers’ luggage. But the volunteers from the THW (Federal Agency for Technical Relief) Schopfheim, Germany, must also be personally well equipped for their assignments, often lasting for days. They have a transport trailer at their disposal. Busch Vacuum Solutions has now funded the structure and tarpaulin of the vehicle so that the helpers’ luggage can be transported dry and safely to the deployment location in the future.

She calls it a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity": Stella Nyirenda came from Malawi to South Africa with her family in November 2013 because her parents were looking for a better education for their highly gifted daughter. Stella has been benefiting from an "Ayhan and Dr Karl Busch Scholarship" for the past two years.

Australia is well known for its wide diversity, home to 25 million people, 30% of which are immigrants, either fleeing turmoil from their home country, or looking to move to Australia in hope of a better life. Sydney has the 8th largest immigrant population among world metropolitan areas, and Melbourne has the 10th largest. Melbourne alone is home to 200 different nationalities, 233 languages and dialects, and 113 different religions.

The five shopping carts can hardly be pushed, so full are they with goods destined for a relief organization. The money for this was collected by a colleague in England, whose campaign was supported by Busch UK.

Fulfilling a wish that would otherwise remain unfulfilled This is the aim of “direct help better future” with its Christmas campaign “Better Christmas”, to which our company has donated. The local organization supports sick or socially disadvantaged children and teenagers who live near our headquarters in the districts of Lörrach and Freiburg.

The project is intended to strengthen primary school pupils by defending themselves against sexualized violence, if necessary, or to confide in someone. The project was initiated by the Lörrach Women’s Counseling Center near our headquarters and has been supported by our company since 2019.

A school in an underprivileged area of Johannesburg, children from less privileged families, classes that were far too large, and hardly any equipment: All these were bad conditions for a successful start in life for the students of Denver Primary School in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The renowned F.A.Z. Institute has published a study on sustainability for which around 10,300 companies were considered. Among the 32 mechanical and plant engineering companies evaluated as sustainable in the study, Busch Vacuum Solutions achieved 6th place.

The fast indoor sport of badminton is one of the few sports in which male and female players also compete together. Just like the teams of BC Lörrach-Brombach, whose new jerseys were sponsored by our company.

A short look into the green is enough to increase our creativity and productivity. This shows how important nature is for our well-being. That’s why our colleagues in India, Korea and Poland have planted trees or shrubs around their offices.

The non-profit organization Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) supports educational programs and child abuse awareness.

The team of Busch Canada wanted to give back to the community and therefore donated 17 laptops to a trusted youth organization in their neighborhood.

How can sustainable behavior be combined with social responsibility? The employees of Ateliers Busch decided to switch to LEDs, to sell the stored spare bulbs and to donate the money from the sale to a children’s cancer association.

Busch promotes e-mobility by providing charging stations for bicycles and motor vehicles in Germany, Austria Switzerland and Sweden.

Education creates understanding. Education solves problems. Education is one way to create a better world for yourself and others. Busch Vacuum Solutions firmly believes in education for all. It is the reason why the Ayhan and Dr Karl Busch Scholarship in Africa was introduced.

They are emulating their role models and training for their future in motorsport at the same time: the young motor sportsmen and women who compete against each other in the Danish Citroën DS3 Cup not only find ideal conditions in this racing series. They are also already being supported by sponsors. Like Nicolai Jonas by Busch Denmark.

Last year, Busch shipped 100 personal computers and monitors as well as 50 laptops to South Africa. They are donated to high schools and people who run social projects. Now, young company founders have received their own laptops.

The company Climeworks has been awarded with the Innovation Award by Busch Vacuum Solutions for its advanced use of vacuum technology. Climeworks is the first company to use Direct Air Capture technology to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. In this way, the company is actively making an important contribution to reducing global warming. In these unique plants, MINK claw vacuum technology from Busch is used to filter CO₂.
