The “Innovation in Vacuum Busch Award 2025” goes to the UK-based company West Technology Systems Ltd. for its groundbreaking portable forensic device VMD 160, enabling rapid on-site development of latent fingerprints.

Busch had already equipped the Formula Student team at the Technical University (TU) of Hamburg with a rotary vane vacuum pump some time ago. Using it, the students manufactured carbon-fiber vehicle parts for their race car via vacuum infusion. Now the partnership has taken another step forward: The e-gnition team has also received matching accessories to ensure the long-term reliable and precise operation of the vacuum equipment.

Busch Vacuum Solutions is writing the next chapter of its low-carbon journey at its Maulburg headquarters. With the commissioning of a geothermal plant, the company harnesses the natural heat beneath its site, strengthening its long-term sustainability approach.

From May 7 to 13, 2026, at interpack in Düsseldorf, the Busch Group will showcase innovative solutions for increasing efficiency and process safety in the foodstuffs and pharmaceutical industries. Visitors can explore modern vacuum and testing technologies from the Busch Vacuum Solutions and Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions brands in Hall 5, Booth D05.
