Sustainable development, sustainable employment, sustainable products and sustainable customer relationships.
With us, everything has been designed to last, including our innovative product portfolio. We also focus on making our products environmentally compatible with sustainably produced components, water-based paints, and reusable packaging.
It is no coincidence that a service life of over 30 years is not uncommon for our products. Nor is it unusual that the son takes over the maintenance of a vacuum pump today that was built by his father decades ago.
In corporate management, too, we think in generations, not in financial quarters.
Busch is at home in the Black Forest. And in over 40 countries worldwide.
The local DNA is firmly embedded in our corporate culture. We are global, but we act locally as a social authority and innovation driver in our regions.
We have made it our mission to support our many local communities worldwide. We do so in the form of both financial and physical help. This goes beyond business.
In South Africa and India, for example, we are sponsoring the education of bright young children. We also provide the latest vacuum pump technology to universities to assist with research and encourage learning.
We support both the Red Cross and the fire brigade. We donate to local charities that are doing great work in their neighborhoods. We sponsor local sports clubs.
We see our responsibility not only in taking care of the planet, but also in sustaining and growing the local communities that inhabit it.
Everyone talks about diversity. What many people only pay lip service to, we put into practice.
It is no easy task, but we accept the challenge. Since our founding more than fifty years ago, we have focused on equal opportunities, individual biographies, and personal abilities.
This is where we draw our strength and where our creative approaches to solutions come from. Although women make up more than half of the world’s population, they are not yet reaching their full potential. However, diversity is much more than a gender issue. It is an issue of ethnic and social background, sexual orientation, ability and disability, and even neurodiversity. Inclusion is essential for real teambuilding, motivation and robust decision-making. At Busch, interdisciplinary is not just a buzzword in job advertisements. Different nationalities, religions, and genders work together extremely productively, supported and protected by our open corporate culture. For us, it’s the individual who counts. We encourage and challenge every employee. We see ourselves not just as a family business, but as one big, global family, with all its facets, worldviews, and skills. The company’s third employee was deaf, there has been a woman at the head of our Spanish sales company since the 1980s, and we have local teams in all our sales companies. Like in a real family, we stand up for each other. And we develop the best solutions for our customers. Not despite our diversity, but because of it.
Energy-efficient, long-lasting products are good. But energy-efficient, long-lasting products that have been produced sustainably are even better.
This is why our innovations are always designed and produced with their impact on the environment taken into account.
Each new product generation often saves up to 20% more energy compared to the previous one. It goes without saying that they are also quieter, more robust, and more user-friendly.
Reducing waste and the consumption of raw materials is standard practice for us. Today, Busch obtains a lot of its electricity from renewable sources like wind or our own solar panels.
Austria, Denmark, and Spain, to name a few, are already gaining 100% of their energy from sustainable sources. In addition, our air conditioning systems are programmed according to the time of day and local climate, and even use the waste heat from our machines to heat our offices and production halls in order to emit less CO2.
The future is green. And our vacuum solutions help our customers to become even greener.
Our products are key components for essential sustainable industrial processes and assist our partners worldwide to execute their own ecological transformation and reduce their energy consumption.
One way is frequency-controlled vacuum pumps that automatically adapt to demand and thus require significantly less energy.
Intelligent heat recovery concepts for heating offices with waste heat from vacuum pumps are another.
We help our customers to produce sustainable fuel, give plastic bottles a second life, or strengthen the blades of wind turbines.
We develop the technology of the future. For example, with our hydrogen recirculation blower, we are making a strong contribution to the emission-free mobility of the future. And our globally available on-site service ensures that no vacuum pumps are sent around the world for repairs, no matter how big.
We do all of this so that less harmful greenhouse gas enters the environment.
Our company history began with a sustainable idea. Dr Karl and Ayhan Busch had the vision of a world without hunger, with healthy, non-perishable foodstuffs for all people and no food waste.
To achieve this, they developed the first vacuum pump for vacuum packaging of food. Because under vacuum, food can be preserved longer and stays fresh and nutritious. The rest is history.
Today, just by taking a look at grocery stores around the world, you can see that their sustainable idea has prevailed. As the market leader, we have been refining vacuum packaging technology and we have held the largest share in this sector ever since.
We contribute to providing healthier food to more people. Feeding the world is one of the big challenges of our time. And we are doing our part.
