Chemical and pharmaceutical industry
- Proven performance
- Robust
- Cost-effective
APOVAC is the ideal standard system for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. It combines proven DOLPHIN liquid ring vacuum pumps, a tube heat exchanger, a separator, and a control cabinet in a ready-to-use setup. The system has been specially designed for processes such as distillation, crystallization, filtration, and vacuum drying.
Built for harsh processes, APOVAC reliably handles toxic, corrosive or explosive gases. Since liquid ring vacuum pumps operate with water or other operating fluids, the process gas inevitably mixes with the liquid during evacuation. To regain and reuse the operating liquid and minimize water consumption, it is therefore necessary to separate the gas and liquid after evacuation. In APOVAC systems, this condensation is carried out in two stages, also known as double condensation. The first condensation takes place inside the vacuum pump. The second follows as the gas-liquid mixture passes through the tube heat exchanger. Hot process gas is cooled through pipes filled with a cooling medium. Here, condensation takes place because the gas cools below its dew point, condensing into a liquid. This setup ensures maximum solvent recovery and minimal liquid carryover, saving operating costs since the operating liquid can be easily reused.
Moreover, thanks to the robust and energy-efficient liquid ring technology, APOVAC vacuum systems boast a low cost of ownership, high uptime, minimal maintenance requirements, and a long service life. APOVAC is available in three sizes with pumping speeds from 72 to 144 m3/h.
Medical industry
- Reliable and safe vacuum supply
- MDR (medical device regulation) certification
- Flexible
MEDIVAC has been specially designed to meet the demands and restrictions of the medical industry. These vacuum systems have been certified according to medical device regulation (MDR) 2017/745 and the technical standard EN ISO 7396–1:2016.
MEDIVAC systems are available in various design options. The systems are based on R5 oil-lubricated rotary vane or MINK dry claw vacuum pumps. Each system consists of three vacuum pumps, a vessel, bacterial filters, a control cabinet, and vacuum transmitters. This setup offers reliable operation and easy maintenance in medical suction applications like surgical vacuum draining.
Plastics industry
- Efficient
- Reliable
- Flexible
PLASTEX vacuum systems have been designed for the harsh demands of plastics processing in applications such as extruder and melt degassing.
Containing dry and contact-free MINK claw vacuum pumps, a flushing device, an exhaust silencer, a standing filter, and a control cabinet, these systems offer low energy consumption and maintenance needs, therefore keeping operating costs to a minimum.
Four different sizes are available with pumping speeds between 50 and 140 m3/h. During plastic processing, volatile substances such as water, solvents, monomers, and degradation products can remain trapped in the material, negatively affecting product quality, mechanical properties, and odor. During the vacuum degassing process, the PLASTEX system extracts these substances, offering efficient degassing with low residual volatile components, ultimately improving product quality.
Liquid ring vacuum pumps units
These units from Busch combine proven liquid ring technology with flexible system concepts to suit demanding industrial processes. Designed for efficiency, durability, and precise control of operating liquids, they support stable process conditions while reducing water and utility consumption. The following versions are available:
DOLPHIN VX
- Robust
- Low operating costs
- Flexible
DOLPHIN VX vacuum pump units rely on proven liquid ring technology, ensuring reliable operation and durability. These units are ideal for challenging processes, such as filtration and degassing in the pharmaceutical industry, and are available as a partial or total recirculation system.
In total recirculation, all the operating liquid - typically freshwater, used to form the liquid ring inside the pump - is recovered and cooled by a heat exchanger. In these units, no dedicated fresh liquid supply installation is required; this eliminates the need for the customer to provide and manage a continuous supply, especially for operating liquids other than water. This recycling also lowers operating costs. In the partial recirculation unit, 85% of the operating liquid is reused, minimizing the freshwater supply to a minimum. A thermostatic regulating valve monitors the liquid temperature and adds only the required amount of fresh operating liquid in the process. Both options help maintain optimal process conditions with minimal water usage, resulting in significant savings on both resources and utility costs.
Each unit is equipped with a DOLPHIN LX vacuum pump. These liquid ring vacuum pumps feature a corrosion-free impeller made of stainless steel, providing extremely high tolerance to vapor and particles. They are available with a housing made of either cast iron (EN-GJL-200) or 316-grade stainless steel.
DOLPHIN VL
- Robust
- All-in-one
- Flexible
DOLPHIN VL vacuum pump units are designed for robust and efficient performance in harsh applications, such as plastic pyrolysis and solvent recovery in the pharmaceutical industry. At the heart of each unit is a DOLPHIN liquid ring vacuum pump, which delivers pumping speeds from 340 – 600 m3/h, also ensuring reliable operation and extremely high vapor and particle tolerance.
These vacuum pumps feature corrosion-free stainless-steel impellers and are offered with a housing made from cast iron (EN-GJL-200) or 316-grade stainless steel. ATEX-certified (Cat. 1 (i/o) IIB, T4) versions are also available.
The DOLPHIN VL is available as a partial or total recirculation system or as a continuous flow system.
COMBI Vacuum pump units
COMBI systems are the perfect vacuum generators to meet the exact requirements of nearly every industrial process. They combine a vacuum booster and a backing pump in a single and compact unit. This combination allows the backing pump to be dimensioned smaller and to operate within a more favourable pressure range, resulting in improved overall energy efficiency compared to a single vacuum pump. COMBI units are especially suitable for coating, heat treatment, vacuum drying, lamination, vacuum packaging and load-lock chambers. The following COMBI versions are available:
COMBI BRV
- Reliable
- High performance
- Flexible
The COMBI BRV uses robust and proven R5 oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps as backing pumps. These are combined with a PANDA/PUMA vacuum booster, offering a solution with reliable operation that needs minimal maintenance.
Solutions for your process
Central system solutions
If your process consists of multiple applications or machines that need vacuum, you should consider centralization. In decentralized systems, each machine is equipped with its own vacuum pump, which is typically sized for peak demand and often runs continuously, leading to inherent overcapacity. In contrast, central vacuum systems match pumping capacity to actual demand; as process demand is usually not simultaneous, fewer pumps are required, reducing energy consumption and operating costs.
