Vacuum Evacuation

Evacuation is the process of emptying a physical space of any gas until a set target pressure is reached. In most industrial cases this gas is ambient air.

Vacuum evacuation is about safeguarding the quality of a material in a production cycle. A chamber is emptied of gaseous particles until the required vacuum level is reached. This ensures that material inside the chamber is at the optimum, unblemished condition needed to create a top-level product.

Evacuation chambers are used in various applications. They allow to conduct manufacturing or testing processes that would be impeded by the presence of ambient air, or, in some cases, by the presence of oxygen.

Vacuum evacuation is used in a wide variety of applications. The advantages of this technology are therefore extremely diverse. In forming and pressing processes, for example, vacuum evacuation leads to uniform three-dimensional pressure on the product surface. It is more comprehensive in terms of mold form or shape, as opposed to a pure pressing application. In food production, it can help preserve the product for a longer time. In thermoforming, vacuum evacuation can allow for energy savings.

R5 rotary vane vacuum pumps, MINK claw vacuum pumps and COBRA screw vacuum pumps are the best solutions for standard evacuation. For high vacuum evacuation processes, we recommend vacuum systems comprised of R5 or COBRA vacuum pumps in combination with vacuum boosters from the PANDA/PUMA family.
