When Every Minute Counts: Donation from Busch Helps Save Lives

In real life, heroes don't wear capes — but sometimes they walk on four paws and are accompanied by dedicated volunteers who devote their time, energy, heart and soul to helping others. In recognition of this commitment, Busch Vacuum Solutions has made a donation to the rescue dog unit of Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. Wiesental, a local branch of the international Malteser aid organization, supporting its vital mission in the region surrounding the headquarters of the globally operating company.

The volunteer rescue dog unit of Malteser Wiesental plays a key role in searching for missing persons in the Lörrach district and the neighboring regions. The team consists of highly qualified rescue dog handlers as well as certified area search dogs, who are on standby at all times — day or night, in any weather. Their work is physically demanding and often life-saving. When people go missing, every minute gained can make all the difference.

Life-saving missions need the right four wheels

Unfortunately, the unit’s current response vehicle is permanently out of service due to a severe mechanical failure. This presents the team with a major operational challenge, since they depend on fast and reliable mobility. For time-critical missions, the rescue dog team urgently needs a new vehicle that can safely and efficiently transport the crew, the rescue dogs and all equipment. With its donation, Busch Vacuum Solutions contributes to thisimportantinvestment.

"This vehicle is not just a means of transport. It is a mobile centerpiece of our work that determines how quickly and efficiently we can help. Thanks to supporters like Busch Vacuum Solutions, we are one big step closer to our goal of being fully operational again," says Britta Gümpel from Malteser Wiesental. Her colleague Christina Szokoll adds: "The new vehicle will serve as a fully equipped mobile response center and enable us to safely transport our team and the rescue dogs in critical situations. It will also carry all the necessary equipment so that we can provide help in all conditions."

With its commitment, Busch Vacuum Solutions underscores how important social responsibility and supporting the local community are to the company. Thilo Rau, General Manager of Busch Dienste GmbH in Maulburg, explains: "Supporting the Malteser Wiesental rescue dog unit reflects our corporate culture. Being part of the local community means supporting where help is needed most. We are proud that our contribution enables the team to respond quickly and effectively, making a real difference in rescue operations."
