HUCKEPACK
Once-through oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps
With the HUCKEPACK, Dr Karl Busch developed the first vacuum pump specially designed for the vacuum packaging of foodstuffs. This was a revolution in the packaging industry.
Where other technologies failed, the HUCKEPACK – with its rotary vane technology – demonstrated robustness and operational reliability. Depending on process conditions, this vacuum pump can last for decades with only minimal maintenance.
HUCKEPACK HO
Benefits of the HUCKEPACK HO series
HUCKEPACK HO once-through oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps are the most rugged and reliable vacuum pumps. They have proven their reliability and adaptability for years in food processing, chemical and pharmaceutical processes, plastics processing and many other industrial applications.
Their durable construction makes HUCKEPACK HO vacuum pumps extremely vapor- and particle-tolerant. Thus, they are suited for harsh process conditions, including aggressive substances.
The carbon fiber composite vanes specially developed and produced by Busch have emergency running properties. They ensure operational safety and high performance even with insufficient lubrication.
HUCKEPACK HO vacuum pumps are equipped with a recirculated water cooling system as standard. The integrated cooling channels allow to adapt the temperature to every process.

FAQ
What makes the HUCKEPACK once-through oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps from Busch special?
Dr Karl Busch developed the HUCKEPACK as the first vacuum pump specially designed for vacuum packaging of foodstuffs – a breakthrough that revolutionized the packaging industry.
These oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps are the ideal choice for particularly complex processes. Their fresh oil lubrication helps to flush out particles from the pump body, making the vacuum pump extremely vapor- and particle-tolerant. For this reason, HUCKEPACK vacuum pumps have proven themselves in the toughest of applications with minimal maintenance needs.
What kind of lubrication does the HUCKEPACK use?
HUCKEPACK rotary vane vacuum pumps from Busch utilize once-through oil lubrication. This type of lubricant system ensures reliable operation and running qualities by continually providing fresh oil to the vacuum pump. The fresh oil helps to seal the clearance between the vanes and the housing and flushes out particles or vapors that could build up in the pump body. This feature is essential for the performance and longevity of vacuum pumps.
What is the difference between R5, HUCKEPACK, ZEBRA and SECO?
All of these vacuum pumps operate with rotary vane technology. The main differences lie in the number of compression stages and the type of lubrication.
Single-stage pumps, such as the R5 and SECO, compress the medium once. Two-stage pumps, like the HUCKEPACK, compress it twice, which allows them to reach higher vacuum levels.
The R5 and HUCKEPACK are oil-lubricated. In the R5, the oil is collected and continuously recirculated for reuse, while in the HUCKEPACK, the oil passes through the vacuum pump only once before being discharged. The SECO, on the other hand, is dry-running. It uses graphite vanes that generate fine dust for lubrication as they glide along the cylinder wall.
