With Vacuum on the Racetrack

Busch Austria is supporting a university racing team

This year Busch Austria is again supporting a university racing team: The team from the FH Joanneum (Graz) is taking part in the international Formula Student competition, where students from all over the world compete against each other in engineering disciplines and on the racetrack. Our colleagues provided an R5 rotary vane vacuum pump free of charge, which was used in the construction of the race car.

After the previously used vacuum pump was no longer operational, a replacement had to be found quickly. Busch Austria was happy to support the students at short notice in the current production phase of the race car and donated an R5 rotary vane vacuum pump. It is used in the production of carbon parts. The components become much more stable with the help of vacuum. In addition, less material is required.

In the last race of the 2022 season, Joanneum Racing Graz became the first Austrian team to take first place in the "Electric Vehicle Racing Class". In other races, the team was also among the TOP 10 with the electric racer JR22. This year, the students want to build on their success in the electric class and bring home victory. Busch Austria is happy to be a part of it and to support the young generation in reaching their goal.
