How to save energy for a greener future

Climate change is one of the biggest concerns of our time.

Energy production and consumption are two of the largest polluters, responsible for over half of all harmful greenhouse gas emissions.

Energy demand is steadily growing as our population and industrialization continue to expand. Therefore, energy saving is now more important than ever.

Vacuum solutions from Busch can reduce energy costs by up to 50%.
Our team is committed to helping our clients decrease their energy consumption. Vacuum solutions from Busch can reduce energy costs by up to 50%.

Identify energy losses in your process. Digitally.

Your processes can only run highly efficiently when your vacuum pump is in optimum running condition.

OO, our digital service innovation, monitors your vacuum pumps’ health. And informs you about potential failures before they occur. This helps you plan your maintenance in advance and avoids unplanned downtimes.

For example, OO tells you when you should change the exhaust filters in your rotary vane vacuum pumps. When the filters are saturated, their back pressure will increase and negatively influence the performance of your vacuum pumps. This makes your pumps consume more energy to execute their function properly.

Regulate the pumping speed of your vacuum pumps. Automatically.

Keeping your vacuum pump running at a constant speed also means constant energy consumption, even when your process doesn’t need it. Achieve high energy savings by adjusting the rotational speed according to demand.

The ECOTORQUE variable speed drive (VSD) is a digital controller that regulates the rotational speed of a motor. It enables the pumping speed of a vacuum pump to be adapted exactly to the actual requirements of your process. The result: significant energy savings.

Busch offers a wide range of vacuum pumps with integrated ECOTORQUE VSD. And with our retrofit kits you can easily upgrade your existing vacuum pumps.

Connect your vacuum pumps. Easily.

Multiple vacuum pumps with ECOTORQUE variable speed drives from Busch can be made even more efficient when they work together.

Connect up to eight vacuum pumps using an ECOTORQUE Master Control and create your own central vacuum system, with no complicated set-up. The system consists of a control panel – the Master Control – and the vacuum pumps connected to it via cable. The Master Control shows each pump’s current status and allows all necessary adjustments.

This retrofittable option means that there is no need to purchase a new vacuum system to centralize your vacuum supply. Allowing you to benefit from all the advantages of centralization without the big investment.

Centralize your vacuum supply. Professionally.

Most vacuum processes are decentrally supplied with vacuum. Each machine which requires vacuum is equipped with its own vacuum pump. These vacuum pumps are always operating at full power consuming a lot of energy.

A centralization of the vacuum supply should be considered if multiple processes or machines require vacuum. Compared to a decentralized supply, central vacuum units generally require lower pumping speed, which results in fewer vacuum pumps and lower energy consumption.

Locate and quantify leaks. Precisely.

A leak in a vacuum system can cause significant problems. It can lead to damage or failure and lower product quality. And operational costs soar as your vacuum equipment works harder.

Checking for leaks allows you to find and fix any problems so that your vacuum pumps can work efficiently again.

Heat recovery

Heat recovery systems capture and repurpose the waste heat generated by vacuum pumps and other industrial equipment, significantly improving energy efficiency and reducing operating costs. By utilizing this recovered heat for different applications, such as heating water or buildings, you can lower your company’s energy consumption, create a better working environment, and reduce its carbon footprint.
