PUMA WY 2000 / 4500 C

Higher pumping speed and improved ultimate pressure: Puma WY vacuum boosters increase the performance of your vacuum system, making it more efficient and economical. Available in six different sizes, Puma WY vacuum boosters can be designed to perfectly suit  all medium and high vacuum applicationsin which the performance of the backing pump must be drastically increased or optimally adapted to the process.
The Puma WY 2000 B to WY 4500 B are the two largest vacuum boosters in this series.

Ideal for difficult processes
Puma WY vacuum boosters are perfect for COBRA screw vacuum pumps and other backing pumps.
They are excellently suited to pump aggressive or toxic gases through the standard water-cooled canned motor. Due to the absence of external passages, it enables absolute leak tightness to the atmosphere.

The Puma WY can be controlled using a pressure switch that activates the vacuum boosters once the backing pump has achieved the optimum pressure.
Alternatively, the Puma WY is also available in versions that are controlled by frequency converters.

Puma WY vacuum boosters can be flanged directly onto the backing pump or in any other position on the system.

Within the housing of Puma WY vacuum boosters, two lobes rotate synchronously. Due to the special profile of the rotating lobes and their precise manufacturing, they do not come into contact with each other or the housing. This allows for pumping without any operating fluids. The synchronous rotation of the two lobes is driven by a pair of gear wheels located on the shaft ends in the gearbox, and separated from the compression chamber. In combination with a COBRA screw vacuum pump that is also driven by a canned motor, Puma WY vacuum boosters are used in many applications in the semiconductor industry, the manufacture of photovoltaic modules and flat-screen displays, silicon production and surface treatment.
