Vacuum 4.0: Our Solutions for Industry 4.0

Hannover, Germany Our German trade show appearance at ComVac is dominated by Industry 4.0. "Vacuum 4.0: Discover Our Industry 4.0 Solutions" is the main theme at the Busch trade show booth.

The new rotary vane vacuum pump R 5 PLUS will be shown for the first time. Thanks to its variable speed drive, it covers a pumping speed range from 440 to 760 cubic meters per hour and reaches an ultimate pressure of 0.1 millibar. This makes it the ideal vacuum generator for many industrial applications. All operating data is constantly recorded and saved. This data can be accessed directly on the built-in display or transferred via a Modbus TCP/IP client/server protocol. Our new vacuum pump is thus ready for Industry 4.0. Essentially, the R 5 PLUS can be operated in two different modes. Following an intuitive menu structure on the display, users can choose between the constant speed mode or pressure control mode. This ensures that either the required pumping speed is kept constant or that, with variable pumping speed, the desired ultimate pressure is constantly guaranteed.

Furthermore, we demonstrate how vacuum pumps can be operated effectively with a dry claw vacuum pump Mink MV Synchro. Equipped with a variable speed drive as standard, this vacuum pump allows the exact performance for the actual requirements to be achieved. The control settings of the Mink MV can be adjusted to match every process exactly. A manual control unit, a parameter configuration kit or a fieldbus module may be used for this purpose. The manual control unit allows the motor speed to be set, and also permits lots of other frequency converter functions to be displayed and altered. The vacuum pump may be controlled by computer using the parameter configuration kit (accessory). Various fieldbus modules are available to integrate the vacuum pumps into a process control system.

We present another new feature in the form of the Busch VacuumApp. It provides our customers with the opportunity to register their installed vacuum pumps using a QR code. This gives them direct access to all technical information about their vacuum pumps.
The app makes it quick and easy to order the corresponding maintenance kits and automatically displays the nearest Busch Service Center with contact details.
