On this year’s Girls’ Day, eleven girls between the ages of 11 and 14 took the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Busch Vacuum Solutions in Maulburg, Germany, to learn more about technical professions.
After introduction rounds, a company presentation, a safety briefing and a tour of the plant, the girls were divided into three groups, corresponding to different departments: assembly, training workshop, and systems building. Among other things, the girls could conduct experiments with vacuum or assemble a vacuum pump themselves. Supervisors were on hand to explain and help them.
Girls’ Day at Busch
“Girls are simply indispensable in technical professions. Therefore, the aim of Girls’ Day is to awaken the interest of young girls in occupational fields in which women are currently still underrepresented,” explains Danny Neumann, HR Expert, who organized the event at Busch headquarters.
The company has been committed to giving interested girls their first experience in technical professions since 2013.
