Literally over hill and dale: that was the first leg of the “Wiesentäler Wasserlauf,” which started at the source of the river Wiese on Feldberg, one of the highest mountains in Germany. Always following the water, the 59 km route led down the mountain over another six stages via the towns of Todtnau, Schönau, Zell, Schopfheim, Steinen and Lörrach to the mouth of the Rhine in Basel. On the way from Schopfheim to Steinen, the river and the running route also passed Maulburg, the location of Busch headquarters.
For each of the 113 kilometers the Busch employees covered, the company will donate to a well construction project in Dikome, West Africa. “The ‘Wiesentäler Wasserlauf’ offers the unique opportunity to run together with Busch colleagues, without the idea of competition, while supporting a project to build water wells in Cameroon,” explained Lisa Heitz, Product Manager for MINK, who participated in the “Wiesentäler Wasserlauf” for the second time.
The well construction project is an initiative of the Schopfheim-based association Dikome-Kamerun. The region around the 2000-inhabitant village of Dikome receives structural support through a partnership with the city of Schopfheim, near Busch headquarters.
